After you've settled in and refreshed, prepare for a captivating city tour. You'll delve into Hanoi's most significant historical and cultural sites, including the solemn Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Ho Chi Minh Museum, the revered Temple of Literature (Vietnam's first national university), the insightful Ethnology Museum (showcasing the nation's diverse ethnic groups), and the picturesque Ngoc Son Temple nestled on Hoan Kiem Lake. This morning, we'll journey from the urban bustle of Hanoi to the tranquil beauty of Mai Chau, a region celebrated for its stunning valley vistas and rich ethnic traditions. Upon arrival, you'll be treated to a delightful traditional lunch, offering an authentic taste of local flavors. The afternoon is dedicated to immersing yourself in the Mai Chau Valley. Enjoy a leisurely biking tour to explore the scenic landscapes and visit nearby villages, gaining insight into the daily lives of the ethnic Thai communities. As evening descends, experience a truly local welcome at a Thai living museum with an authentic traditional BBQ dinner, followed by a captivating Thai traditional dance performance.
Begin your day with an engaging walk to Mai Chau market, where you can interact with local people and witness the lively trade of handmade products and fresh produce. For a touch of adventure, we'll then ascend to the 1000-step-cave (Hang Mo Luong or similar), exploring its intriguing formations. After a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, you'll have some leisure time to relax or explore further before we transfer you back to the dynamic heart of Hanoi.
After breakfast at your Hanoi hotel, our journey to the magnificent Ha Long Bay begins, departing at approximately 8:00 AM. Upon arrival at the pier, you'll step aboard your comfortable cruise vessel, greeted with a delectable lunch. As you dine, prepare to be captivated as your boat gracefully cruises through thousands of stunning islands and islets, each a unique masterpiece sculpted by nature. Following lunch, you can settle into your cabin before diving into an afternoon of adventure: explore the impressive Surprising Cave (Sung Sot Cave), paddle through the serene waters on a kayaking excursion, or take a refreshing swim in the emerald bay. As the day draws to a close, return to the vessel, enjoy a drink, and witness the truly spectacular sunset painting the sky over the bay.
Wake up to a fresh breakfast served onboard as your cruise continues to reveal the bay's hidden charms. We'll make a special stop at a Pearl Farm village, offering a fascinating glimpse into the delicate process of pearl cultivation. Your cruise will then navigate through more enchanting islands and islets, allowing you to soak in the untouched beauty of this UNESCO World Heritage site. Enjoy a final lunch onboard as the boat makes its way back to the pier.
