OVERVIEW ITINERARY
Explore the ancient capital of Hoa Lu with its historic temples, enjoy a scenic sampan boat ride in Tam Coc surrounded by limestone cliffs and rice paddies, then trek up Mua Cave for panoramic views of the valley. Return to Hanoi in the evening.
07:15 – 07:45 AM: Pick-up from your hotel in Hanoi’s Old Quarter. Depart south to Ninh Binh (110 km, approx. 2 hours).
Morning: Explore Hoa Lu, Vietnam’s ancient capital. Visit temples dedicated to Emperors Dinh and Le, their families, and queens. Learn the historical significance of Hoa Lu.
12:00 PM: Enjoy a traditional lunch at a local restaurant.
01:30 PM: Board a sampan for a 1.5-hour boat ride in Tam Coc (“Three Caves”), admiring majestic limestone cliffs, mysterious caves, tranquil rivers, and rice paddies. Ideal for photography and relaxation.
03:30 PM: Trek up to Mua Cave and climb Ngoa Long Mountain for breathtaking panoramic views of the Tam Coc valley and surrounding countryside.
05:15 PM: Return to the bus for the journey back to Hanoi.
