Day 1: Welcome to Hanoi - Capital of Vietnam

Upon your arrival at Noi Bai International Airport (HAN) in Hanoi, you will be warmly greeted and transferred to your hotel. Settle into Vietnam's charming capital, known for its tree-lined boulevards, French colonial architecture, and delicious street food. Take some time to relax after your journey, or perhaps enjoy a leisurely evening stroll around Hoan Kiem Lake and the Old Quarter.

Day 2: Hanoi Full Day City Tour

Immerse yourself in the rich history and culture of Hanoi.

  • Morning: Visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (if open), a significant historical site, and Ho Chi Minh's Stilt House, his modest former residence. Explore the One Pillar Pagoda, a unique and iconic temple.
  • Afternoon: Explore the Temple of Literature, Vietnam's first university, and Hoa Lo Prison, a former prison with a poignant history.

Day 3: Hanoi - Halong Bay Overnight Cruise

Day 4: Halong Bay - Hanoi

Continue your Halong Bay cruise before returning to Hanoi.

  • Afternoon: Disembark and transfer back to Hanoi.

Day 5: Hanoi - Mai Chau - Trekking to Explore Ethnic Village

Escape the city and explore the tranquil valleys of Mai Chau.

  • Morning: Depart Hanoi for Mai Chau, a beautiful valley surrounded by rice paddies and mountains.

Day 6: Mai Chau - Moc Chau - Pha Din Pass - Dien Bien Phu

Day 7: Dien Bien Phu Discovery Full day

Explore the historical sites of Dien Bien Phu.

  • Daytime: Visit key historical sites related to the Battle of Dien Bien Phu, including the Dien Bien Phu Museum, Eliane Hill, De Castries' Bunker, and the War Cemetery.

Day 8: Dien Bien Phu - Laos - Muang Khua - Nong Khiaw

Cross the border into Laos and experience the serene beauty of Nong Khiaw.

  • Daytime: Cross the border into Laos. The journey will involve road travel and potentially a boat trip. The destination is Muang Khua, a small town on the Nam Ou River. From Muang Khua, you will take a boat trip down the Nam Ou River to Nong Khiaw, a beautiful town surrounded by limestone cliffs.

Day 9: Nong Khiaw - Luang Prabang - Pak Ou Cave

Journey to the UNESCO World Heritage town of Luang Prabang.

  • Daytime: Enjoy a scenic boat trip down the Nam Ou River to Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage town. En route, you'll stop at the Pak Ou Caves, two limestone caves filled with thousands of Buddha images.

Day 10: Luang Prabang City Tour - Kwang Si Waterfall

Explore the cultural highlights of Luang Prabang.

  • Morning: Explore the temples of Luang Prabang, including Wat Xieng Thong, the city's most magnificent temple.

Day 11: Luang Prabang - Phonsavan

Journey to Phonsavan, the gateway to the Plain of Jars.

  • Daytime: Drive from Luang Prabang to Phonsavan, the capital of Xieng Khuang province, known for the mysterious Plain of Jars.

Day 12: Phonsavan - Xieng Khuang - Explore Plain of Jars

Explore the enigmatic Plain of Jars.

  • Daytime: Explore the Plain of Jars, a landscape dotted with thousands of ancient stone jars of unknown origin. Visit Site 1, Site 2, and Site 3 to see different groupings of the jars.

Day 13: Xieng Khuang - Fly to Vientiane + City Tour

Fly to the capital of Laos and explore its highlights.

  • Daytime: Fly from Xieng Khuang (Phonsavan) to Vientiane, the capital of Laos.
  • Explore Vientiane, including Pha That Luang, Laos's most important national monument, Patuxai (Victory Monument), and Wat Sisaket, the oldest temple in Vientiane.

Day 14: Vientiane Departure

Your adventure concludes in Vientiane.

  • Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some free time for last-minute souvenir shopping or exploring more of Vientiane.
  • Transfer to Wattay International Airport (VTE) for your departure flight.
